When it comes to getting your audios out to the public, the internet can be your best friend. However, there are even more resources available to help you.
Personally, I’d recommend putting up the audio on a replay line. This makes it easy for those who listen to audio on their cell phones, as well as anyone with a phone but without internet access or a good computer. Not everyone can get onto a computer, you see. For example, my dear mom can’t go online because her hands shake. I’m not sure why exactly, but her hands shake to the point where she can’t use a mouse. As a result, she can’t take advantage of the wonders of the internet. And trust me, there are many others in a similar situation.
So, my suggestion is to have a phone number, a replay line, which allows you to broadcast your message through the telephone. Plus, they are somewhat qualified prospects, since they have to pay for the long-distance call. On top of that, the replay line company will send you a report that includes how many people called the replay line and how long they stayed on the call. This way, you’ll have a list of call IDs containing the numbers of everyone who showed interest.
Imagine if you put the whole thing up as a free hour replay, sent it out to your list, and then received the report from the replay company. You could see how long each person stayed on the phone and you would also have their caller ID number. I bet you’d have a pretty qualified prospect who wants to learn more about your services.
Now, let’s talk about the power of YouTube for distributing your information. It truly is amazing! Have you ever come across those YouTube videos called Blendit?
YouTube is an incredible promotional tool. Take this company, for example, that sells these top-of-the-line blenders. The container part, where you fill up your juice or whatever you’re blending, is made of bulletproof material. And the motor is super strong. What this guy does is demonstrate it all in a YouTube video. He blends crazy things like iPhones, glow sticks, and even a bowl of cubic zirconium diamonds. It’s mind-blowing! You really have to check it out. Just go to YouTube and search for Blendit. The videos have gone viral and they have millions of views. The best part? He links directly to his website and is selling an incredible amount of blenders.
But YouTube isn’t the only powerful platform out there. We also have Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace for the younger generation. These social media sites are incredible resources. Just the other day, I was talking about how popular that interview I did on LinkedIn was. We discussed YouTube and iTunes as well. Ah, iTunes. You know, I have about 150 of my interviews converted into podcasts, which are available on iTunes for anyone with a digital MP3 player. It’s amazing how iTunes was originally created by Apple to sell music, but podcasts have expanded its horizons. They can include TV shows, movies, and even radio shows. So, essentially, podcasts are digital content meant to be downloaded from the internet onto your mobile digital playing device, whether it’s a cell phone, iPod, or MP3 player.
