Now here’s the key – within an interview, there are these powerful moments where something truly remarkable is said. And as an editor, you learn to recognize these moments and extract them for use in promotions. So, a lot of my interviews begin with exactly that – a snappy commercial-like clip that hooks the listener right from the start. It’s reminiscent of those captivating moments in a movie that leave you on the edge of your seat. And right after that key moment, I incorporate a little piece of signature music. It’s a formula I’ve adhered to since the beginning, and it adds a tremendous amount of excitement at the very outset of the interview. That’s how you do it – just listen intently for those moments that truly shine.
Think of it as hunting for the perfect headline for a sales letter. Imagine you’re listening to an audio interview, mining it for content to use in your sales letter. Well, let me tell you, oftentimes your prospect actually provides you with the headline! It’s astonishing how many times the perfect headline is buried within the interview itself. It’s like stumbling upon a promotional gem that you could employ to effectively promote the entire interview.
So, the key is to break it all down into bite-sized pieces. Pick out 5 or 10 of those captivating moments scattered throughout the interview and string them all together. That’s the secret sauce – that’s how you do it. Trust me, it works like a charm.
