Hey, listen up. I got a question for you. Ya ever wonder why there’s a dead Pakistani sittin’ right on my dang couch?
Y’see, ever since that Google keyword suggestion tool came around, some pretty funny and inappropriate suggestions can just pop up outta nowhere durin’ your innocent searches.
Now, one of the internet’s all-time favorite Google keyword suggestions is none other than “Why is there a dead Pakistani on my Couch?” Now ain’t that a trip? But let me tell ya, this weird question actually comes from a little scene in that American TV show “Lost,” created by Jeffrey Lieber, J. J. Abrams, and Damon Lindelof.
Now, this show here is all about a plane crash that leaves folks stranded on a tropical island, strugglin’ to survive against the elements and each other. And that scene we’re talkin’ ’bout? Well, it’s just a short 5-second part from one of the episodes. Can ya believe it?
But here’s the kicker. As silly as it may sound, these crazy searches like the Pakistani couch line actually get searched for quite a bit ’round the whole dang world. Yessir, these mindless suggestions are somethin’ else, with the Pakistani couch phrase gettin’ searched ’bout fifty thousand times, every single month. It’s just plain nuts I tell ya, and Google ain’t even tryin’ to fix these dumb errors. Don’t do no good for most folks lookin’ for real research, ya know?
But hey, these funny suggestions sure do sweep across the internet and keep folks laughin’. There’s plenty more where that came from, like “Why can’t I own a Canadian” or “Are donkeys waterproof?” Now, who in tarnation comes up with these and who even searches for ’em in the first place? Well, ain’t nobody knows, but the internet sure wouldn’t be the same without these gems, I reckon.
